What Workout are You Currently Doing?

As some of you may have noticed, I’m publishing more blog posts this week than I usually do.  This is because I’m participating in a challenge by Darren Rouse of the Problogger podcast and website.  He’s been giving us a post structure to use all week and today, for Day 6, we are to publish a “Discussion Post”.  Since none of my readers have been leaving regular comments I thought I post a question for all of you…..

On Friday we were challenged to write a “review post” so I decided to write a general review of the Beachbody workouts and how they can and/or should be used by people 45+ which you can read here: http://getfitnowwithcheryl.com/age-and-exercise/review-beachbody-programs-mature-adults/.

    I have fallen in love with crossfit. I’m one of the slowest in my gym, but I love the camaraderie and how it pushes me beyond what I think I can do.

      Crossfit is really tough too, Gina but I agree that it pushes you to go further than you think you can too!

    I do workouts by Gilad. He makes excellent workout DVDs. He has a Facebook group if you are doing one of his challenges. Excellent support. You can find his website if you google Bodies in Motion – Gilad. Highly recommended!

    I love my triathlon training, which varies each morning between the pool and my bike with lunchtime runs. The variety keeps it fresh. Out of all three, I leave the pool feeling the best.

      Wow Mike! That’s impressive! I love watching the triathlon but with my knee running is out of my life for the rest of it and I can barely swim to save my life:)

    I’m not currently doing any type of workout program – just walking the dog mostly – but your review post on BeachBody caught my interest. I may have to check that out! (Btw, nice work on the Blogger Challenge!)

      Thank you, Lynn! At least you’re getting some exercise walking your dog! That’s more than a lot of people. If you so consider using a Beachbody product at home, please let me help you select which one so you don’t get one that’s too difficult and turns you off from the workouts! I’ve been with them for about 4 years and can guide you based on your fitness level and goals and I also run a private facebook group to motivate and keep people accountable.

    A quick workout that I love to do is daily burn. I also have a lot of Cody app workouts and they’re great too. What I prefer though is to just get to the gym for Zumba, weights and the bike.

      Thanks, Jacqueline! I used to go to the gym but found that I made too many excuses not to go but if I have the workout here at home, I tend to do it:). One word about Zumba since I’m all about the knees now – be careful of it. All the twisting and turning the knees in some of the moves can cause damage if you’re not careful.

    Most of my exercise is in the form of playing around with my kids: Basketball, soccer, etc. in our yard. However, I’ve recently discovered some YouTube dance routine workouts that are really fun!

      Thanks, Resa! Sounds like you get a good workout with your kids! If you like dance workouts, Shaun T has one called Cize that is similar to Zumba and Autumn just came out with one to country music. They have Beachbody on demand now where you can try some of them out.

    At the moment I’m staying strong with weight training. Mostly full body work. Throw in a couple of sessions on the rower and I’m done.

      I love lifting Darren but had to take some time off because of the whiplash from being rear-ended. I hate losing ground with it!

    I mostly do Barre (and teach), Pop Pilates, Tracy Anderson, and Zumba. Love them all. Effective with low impact cardio.
